PHY961:Nonlinear Beam Dynamics Lectures Notes

The videos of the lectures by Prof. Berz and Dr. Makino were recorded during the 1998 US Particle Accelerator School in Austin, TX and they are available in G2 format. Please note that these files are streamed G2 files and they require a recent G2 player from Real Networks.

Further information about the textbook of this lecture can be found here. In the mid-term future we expect to have a downloadable PostScript version of the book available for the participants of this course. Until then you should buy the book at your favorite book dealer. If you really cannot afford buying the book we can send you a printout of a pre-version (please contact Dr. Kyoko Makino for further information).

NOTE on the homeworks:
1. The answers have to make sense physically.
2. You can discuss the problems with your fellow students. But, you have to submit your own original COSY programs for COSY deck submissions. If it is obvious that your COSY program is basically the same with your fellow students, the scored points will be divided among the people involved.

This course is organized by Dr. Kyoko Makino. Please direct all questions related to the lectures and/or the lecture notes to her. You should also visit the Discussion Board.
